Mr. Brainwash Debuts Park City Is Beautiful at Park City Fine Art
Mr. Brainwash will open "Park City Is Beautiful" at Park City Fine Art on Feb. 26; the France-born artist will be at the gallery from 5–8 p.m. at 558 Main Street.

Street- and pop-art pioneer Mr. Brainwash will open a new show titled "Park City Is Beautiful" at Park City Fine Art, with an opening reception set for Feb. 26 and the artist scheduled to be at the gallery from 5–8 p.m. The gallery lists its storefront as 558 Main Street; promotional images credit Park City Fine Art and It's a Wonderful World Inc.
Born Thierry Guetta in 1966 and now based in Los Angeles, Mr. Brainwash works across graffiti, printmaking, stenciling, painting and sculpture, blending street- and pop-art sensibilities into playful, sometimes satirical installations. Mr. Brainwash described the choice of Park City in an emailed statement: "Park City is a place where nature reminds you how beautiful the world can be. The light, the mountains, the sense of freedom, it all invites you to dream. Bringing 'Park City Is Beautiful' here feels like a celebration of that spirit."
His career includes headline-grabbing, large-scale public spectacles. His first solo exhibition, "Life is Beautiful," opened in Hollywood in 2008 and ran three months, drawing roughly 50,000 visitors; that show featured a 20-foot robot, a pyramid constructed from 20,000 books and a life-size recreation of Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks." In 2011 he took over an 80,000-square-foot building for "Life Is Beautiful: Art Show 2011," donating over 20,000 square feet to showcase donated works, hosting the Google Music unveiling on Nov. 11, 2011, and performances by Busta Rhymes, Drake and Maroon 5.
Mr. Brainwash's work has circulated widely in pop culture: he was featured in Banksy's 2010 Sundance Film Festival documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop," which was nominated for an Academy Award, and his pieces have appeared in television and film including The Kardashians, Billions, Molly's Game and Shameless. He has also created album covers for Madonna, KYGO and Rick Ross.
Museum-scale projects are part of his recent activity. Four years ago he founded the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum, which features the permanent exhibit "Enter Through the Museum," and his takeover of the Petersen Automotive Museum's Armand Hammer Foundation Gallery produced "Cars Are Beautiful: Mr Brainwash @ the Petersen," an immersive, fully interactive installation the Petersen describes as a whimsical celebration of the automobile; the gallery listing shows "Closes 2026."
Specifics about the Park City presentation remain limited in the promotional materials: no running dates beyond the Feb. 26 opening, no list of works to be exhibited, and no ticketing or RSVP details were provided. The artist's opening-night presence is confirmed for 5–8 p.m., but it has not been clarified whether that window is a public reception or a private event.
For practical planning, the exhibition opens Feb. 26 at Park City Fine Art, 558 Main Street; attendees should note the artist appearance from 5–8 p.m. and follow up with the gallery for details on the show's run, ticketing and the specific works on view.
