Goodwell bats erupt in 15-12 revenge win over Mooreland
Goodwell answered a 15-3 loss to Mooreland with a 15-12 rebound, powered by Keaton Ferguson and Trighton Moore as the Eagles improved to 5-7.

Goodwell flipped the script on Mooreland in a 15-12 shootout Monday, April 19, turning an earlier 15-3 loss into a win that showed the Eagles still had plenty of offense left when it mattered most.
Keaton Ferguson helped drive the turnaround with a 2-for-3 day that included two stolen bases, two RBI and a run scored. Trighton Moore matched him at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and a run scored. Those two were the difference in a game that kept leaning on timely hits and pressure on the basepaths.
By April 21, Ferguson led Goodwell with a .571 batting average, three stolen bases, four hits and four RBI. Moore was batting .500 and had already piled up two doubles. In a small-school lineup, that kind of production can decide whether a game slips away or stays within reach.
The win lifted Goodwell to 5-7 and dropped Mooreland to 9-15, a reminder of how quickly momentum can swing in spring baseball. For the combined Goodwell-Texhoma Eagles, now in their third season together, the result also reinforced that the group can take a lopsided loss and answer back instead of carrying it forward into the next week.
That matters in Goodwell, a Texas County town of 951 residents that is also home to Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Around here, high school baseball is more than a box score. It is part of the rhythm of the school year, and it gives families, students and alumni a reason to pay attention as the schedule tightens and district play draws closer.
