Guymon Pioneer Days Dinner, Dance Raises Funds, Organizers Predict Record Rodeo
Guymon served 275 meals and ran a $10,000 draw down at the 21st Annual Dinner, Dance & Draw Down; organizers say “all indicators point to another record-breaking year.”

The Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo committee reported on Feb. 17, 2026 that the community fundraiser and associated rodeo activities delivered strong results and a positive outlook for the May performances. “We don’t have all the final numbers yet, but all indicators point to another record-breaking year,” said Brooke Kitting, marketing director for the rodeo, speaking about the 21st Annual Dinner, Dance & Draw Down held Feb. 14 at the Pickle Creek Event Center in Guymon.
The Draw Down ticket package sold for $100 and included two prime-rib dinners and one entry into the draw down; tickets went on sale Dec. 1, 2025 through the rodeo shop and volunteer committee. Talkrodeotome reported that numbers were drawn one by one until a single winner remained and that the grand prize for the draw down was $10,000. Kitting confirmed on-site operations and fundraising returns in saying, “We served 275 meals, and we also sold a first-edition Guymon leather jacket in the live auction.”
Auction activity and door prizes helped supplement ticket revenue. Kitting added, “We had some great auction items that helped us raise a considerable amount.” The volunteer rodeo committee also donated some door-prize items, and students from the Guymon High School FFA program assisted during the event. Kitting credited local planners directly: “A lot of this success is on Gil and Sydney Barrera, who led the planning with this event.”

Sponsor support named by Talkrodeotome included Blackmore Livestock Transportation; Advanced Water Solutions; Bob’s Cowboy Bar Saloon & Dancehall; Refz Sports Bar & Grill; Dancer’s Fine Wine & Liquor; Gabs Bottle in a Bag; and Seaboard Foods. Seaboard Foods is also listed on Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo pages as providing free admission and parking on select rodeo days, and the committee highlighted sponsorships and volunteerism as instrumental to the draw down’s success.
Organizers linked the fundraiser directly to the upcoming rodeo schedule. Talkrodeotome lists performances at Henry C. Hitch Pioneer Arena set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1; 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2; and 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3. The Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo site shows a broader block of events at the arena from Monday, April 29 through Sunday, May 5 and promotes the rodeo tagline “Where Champions Come To Play The First Weekend in May.” The committee report described the event as “honoring local traditions and delivering both cultural and economic benefits to the Guymon area,” while noting attendance at rodeo activities was higher-than-expected.

Final totals from ticket sales, auction proceeds and net funds to Pioneer Days have not been released; organizers say they will publish detailed figures once reconciled.
