Lill Osborn pinned his way to a District 4 championship in Hays, sending eight Liberal wrestlers to the Kansas State Tournament in Topeka next week.

Seeded first and living up to every expectation, Lill Osborn won the District 4 Championship title in the 14U boys 100-pound division last weekend in Hays, finishing the tournament with three pins and a perfect record at the top of the bracket.
The Liberal Wrestling Club traveled to Hays with 32 wrestlers for the District 4 Championship Tournament held March 6 and 7. Under the tournament's advancement rules, the top four finishers in each weight class earned a spot in the Kansas State Tournament, set for March 13 through 15 in Topeka. Eight Liberal wrestlers qualified.
Coach Krista Holcomb singled out Osborn's performance and his influence on the broader club. "We are so proud of Lill. He works hard during his time on the mat and is a great leader for our club to have. He is very deserving!" Holcomb said.
Beyond Osborn's title, Brian Casas turned in one of the club's strongest performances among the qualifiers, finishing second in the high school boys 113-pound division with three pins. Sofia Torres took second in 12U girls 85 pounds, also recording two pins. AC Gomez reached third in HS boys 150 pounds by combining two technical falls with a pin.
