OPSU Rodeo Names Poer, Kreikemeier Aggies of the Week After Garden City Competition
Gruver native Helen Poer roped a 4.4 aggregate at Garden City to earn Aggies of the Week alongside Zane Kreikemeier, who competed in two roping disciplines.

Helen Poer stopped the clock at 2.1 and 2.3 seconds across the breakaway roping go rounds at Garden City Community College, posting a 4.4-second aggregate that placed the Gruver, Texas, native at the top of her event. That performance, combined with Zane Kreikemeier's contributions in both tie-down and team roping, earned the pair OPSU's 27th Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week honor of the season, covering the week of March 23-29.
Kreikemeier's dual-discipline output at Garden City helped push OPSU's team scoring across the weekend, adding range to what was already a strong collective showing from the Aggie rodeo program at the Kansas competition.
Mack's Motorsports has sponsored the weekly recognition series throughout the 2025-26 season as a vehicle for OPSU's athletic communications to highlight individual performers in a sport that does not always command the same media footprint as revenue athletics. For student-athletes like Poer and Kreikemeier, the award carries practical weight: rodeo recognition contributes to recruiting visibility and scholarship consideration in a program that draws competitors from across the Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas tri-state corridor.

The spring competitive schedule at sites like Garden City Community College is where qualifying points accumulate that determine postseason placement. With regional finals and collegiate national championships on the horizon, Poer's event-winning aggregate and Kreikemeier's work across two roping disciplines position both athletes as contributors to OPSU's push through the back half of the season.
