Texhoma NHS Hosts Blood Drive, Student Earns National Speech Honor
Texhoma NHS drew blood donors to the Dome Cafeteria on March 9, while student Tate Skelton earned a national speech and debate honor.

Texhoma Public Schools marked a pair of noteworthy achievements last week, as the school's National Honor Society chapter organized a blood drive and student Tate Skelton received recognition at the national level for speech and debate.
The NHS blood drive took place Monday, March 9, running from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Dome Cafeteria. The four-and-a-half-hour window gave community members and school staff an accessible opportunity to donate, with the NHS chapter coordinating the logistics and outreach. Blood drives organized through student-led chapters like Texhoma's NHS play a direct role in supplying regional medical facilities, and the Dome Cafeteria's capacity made it a practical venue for the collection effort.

Separately, Texhoma Public Schools announced that Tate Skelton earned a National Speech and Debate honor, a recognition that places the student among competitors recognized at the national level in one of academics' most demanding arenas. The school posted both announcements on its official website.
The two developments together reflect the range of work coming out of Texhoma's student body, from service-oriented community health initiatives to individual academic and competitive achievement on a national stage.
