Texhoma Schools Announces Bingo Night, Gym Closure, and Spring Events
Texhoma's new gym is closed for construction with no reopening date set, while Monday's Senior Night baseball game and cheer clinics round out a busy March for the school.

Texhoma Public Schools' new gym is closed indefinitely, with the district posting a notice that no one is allowed inside while construction is underway and giving no timeline for reopening.
The shutdown reshapes how the school navigates an already packed late-March schedule. Varsity and junior varsity baseball are set to host Hooker at OPSU on Monday, March 30, at 3:00 p.m., a game the school has designated Senior Night. Cheer try-out clinics run Monday and Tuesday, March 30 and 31.
The busy week follows a run of activity that closed out Thursday and Saturday. The Class of 2028 hosted the Class of 2026 Bingo Night at the Texhoma Dome Cafeteria on Thursday, March 26, with the fundraiser running from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday brought two road trips: the varsity baseball squad competed in a tournament at Balko starting at 10:00 a.m., while the 5/6 and 7/8 track teams made the trip to Hooker for a meet that began at 10:30 a.m.

Alongside the athletics calendar, the district is recruiting parents to join a "Parent Appreciation Crew." The school's website provides a QR code families can scan to enter a GroupMe used for volunteer coordination.
Texhoma operates as a small border community where the school serves as the central gathering point for civic life. The concentration of a gym construction closure, a fundraiser, a volunteer drive, and Senior Night into a single week underscores how closely school logistics and community routines run together in the Panhandle.
