Elgin shoppers found $20 off western boots and a live set from 97.1 THE DRIVE's Janda when Boot Barn opened its doors at 214 S. Randall Road for a three-day grand-opening run that concluded Sunday, March 29.

The celebration stretched from March 27 through 29, with Sunday's main event drawing crowds between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Alongside Janda's appearance, the afternoon featured live country music, daily prize drawings and giveaways. Opening-week promotions paired the boot discount with savings of up to 20 percent on select clothing lines, giving first-weekend shoppers a financial incentive to arrive early and stock the truck bed.

The store sits next to Harbor Freight on Randall Road, a pairing that puts two work-oriented retailers side by side for Union County tradespeople and ranchers combining errands in a single trip. The Elgin Area Chamber promoted the event and provided logistical guidance, including parking notes for the retail strip, which carried heavier traffic throughout the weekend.
