La Grande Main Street Cleanup Day Set for April 25 Downtown

La Grande Main Street Downtown has set its annual cleanup day for Saturday, April 25, inviting business owners, property owners and volunteers to spend the morning pulling weeds, sweeping sidewalks and wiping storefronts along the city's main commercial corridors.

The event runs ahead of a coordinated city follow-up: street sweepers will make an early-morning pass beginning at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, rolling through Adams, Washington and Jefferson avenues. Participants are asked to keep those three streets clear of parked vehicles overnight into Monday morning so crews can work unobstructed. To maximize the sweep's reach, property owners are also asked to blow or sweep debris directly into the street on the evening of April 25, positioning material for mechanical sweepers to collect the following week.

Volunteer tasks are designed to be manageable individually and significant collectively.
