Four hours of live bidding on 104.7 KCMB netted $33,132 for Union County 4-H this past weekend, coming within $1,000 of the program's all-time fundraising record in what organizers described as a "nail-biter" finish.
The annual Union County 4-H Radio Auction drew listeners and bidders across the region, with the studio tension building as the running tally crept toward last year's historic mark. The final total fell just short, but the community response left little room for disappointment.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward Union County 4-H programs for the upcoming year, supporting hands-on learning in agriculture, leadership, science, and civic engagement for local children and teens.
The auction was produced by the Union County 4-H program with local volunteers, donors, and business sponsors. No individual organizer names were available at press time.
The closing stretch was particularly charged. According to organizers, listeners were glued to their radios as the bids mounted and the total approached the record-breaking threshold set in 2025.
