The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office is investigating at least three separate assaults in the bosque along the west side of the Rio Grande, north of Alameda, with a suspect still at large and no arrests made.

The incidents span more than six weeks. On Feb. 2, a suspect dressed entirely in black, including a face mask, gloves, and goggles, allegedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at a victim, pushed the person to the ground, and cut their pants. The victim was unharmed. On March 1, a differently described suspect, also wearing all black, attacked a man with a box cutter, leaving him injured. In the most recent incident, a woman riding a horse was approached by a suspect holding a knife who threatened to stab the animal. She escaped without injury. That suspect was described as wearing a black hoodie with blue pants and appeared to be around 30 years old.

BCSO has not publicly confirmed whether the three incidents involve a single suspect or multiple individuals. The clothing descriptions overlap in two of the cases, with suspects wearing all black, but authorities have not stated the attacks are definitively linked to one person.

The assaults occurred near Valencia County communities including Bosque Farms, in an area that runs along the west bank of the Rio Grande north of Alameda. A geographic note: the specific descriptor in the BCSO report, west side of the Rio Grande north of Alameda, corresponds closely to the Corrales bosque rather than Valencia County proper, and the exact street-level locations of each incident have not been released. Anyone with firsthand knowledge of the precise locations should contact BCSO directly.

No suspect name has been released, no arrests have been made, and no surveillance images have been made public. BCSO is urging anyone with information to call the non-emergency line, submit tips online, or send an anonymous text. For active emergencies, call 911.
