Belen opens registration for family kickball league through May 16
Belen is taking family kickball sign-ups through May 16, with $200 team entry, jerseys included and games set for Eagle Park in June.

Belen has opened registration for a Family Kickball League that gives local households a low-cost way to stay active close to home, with team sign-ups running through May 9 and late registration available May 11 through May 16.
The price is built for families watching their summer budget. Teams cost $200 and can carry 9 to 12 players, with jerseys included. The city also set a late team fee of $225, while individual players can register for $25 and be placed on teams that still need members. Each roster must include at least two players under age 16, which gives younger kids a required role instead of leaving the league to adults alone.
Games are scheduled to begin the week of June 5 at the Eagle Park Softball Fields, one of Belen’s most familiar recreation sites. Registration takes place at the Belen Community Center, 305 Eagle Lane.
The setup makes the league one of the city’s clearest spring and summer options for parents who want a structured activity without driving to Albuquerque or paying for a more expensive club program. A single roster can bring together parents, children, neighbors, church groups and friends, and the age rule keeps the format mixed enough for families to play together rather than split into separate leagues.
Belen’s Parks and Recreation Department says its programs are meant to promote a healthy quality of life for residents and strengthen their mental, emotional and physical health. The kickball league fits that mission with an easy entry point: a neighborhood-sized team, a local field and a price tag that stays within reach for many households in Valencia County.
The kickball league is also part of a broader recreation slate in Belen. The city’s 2026 Summer Rec Program is open for youth in first through eighth grades, with sports, arts and crafts, games and field trips, and the city’s spring lineup also includes adult 3-on-3 basketball and NFL Flag registration. For families looking for one more reason to stay local this summer, the kickball league offers a simple answer: enough players, a short drive to Eagle Park, and a chance to turn a weeknight game into a standing family routine.
