Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library Hosts Mammoth and Mastodon Program March 21
Gary Argabright, an expert on prehistoric cultures, brings Ohio mammoth and mastodon discoveries to McArthur's Wescoat Library this Saturday at 2 p.m., free.
The Herbert Wescoat Memorial Library in McArthur will present a free program on Ohio's ancient megafauna this Saturday, when Gary Argabright takes the podium to discuss "Mammoths and Mastodon: Discoveries in Ohio" at 2 p.m. on March 21.
Argabright brings specialized knowledge to the presentation, described as an expert on prehistoric cultures as well as Paleo, Archaic and Woodland stone tools and artifacts. The program focuses on mammoth and mastodon discoveries made within Ohio, offering Vinton County residents a close look at the prehistoric record found in their own state.
Admission is free and open to the public. The library has not announced whether seating is limited or whether advance registration is required.
