Wilton High School alumni will gather at the Old Dutch Restaurant in Logan on Saturday, May 23, for a reunion built as much around memory as it is around a meal. The day will begin with a social gathering at 4 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting at 4:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 5 p.m. Attendees will meet in the downstairs room, with entrance on the back side of the building.

This year’s milestones give the reunion its emotional center. The Class of 1956 will mark a 70-year anniversary, the Class of 1961 will celebrate 65 years, and the Class of 1966 will recognize 60 years. The 1966 class is also identified as the final class to graduate from Wilton High School, a detail that keeps the reunion tied to a school era that no longer exists in the same form.

That history matters in Vinton County, where Wilton’s identity was folded into a much larger district picture after the Vinton County Local School District was formed in 1967 by merging the Allensville, Hamden, McArthur, Wilton and Zaleski school districts. The district now spans 12 townships and 416 square miles, with 1,748 students enrolled in the 2024-2025 school year. Against that backdrop, the reunion is more than a class dinner. It is a yearly effort to hold on to the social fabric that once centered a smaller community school.

Organizers are also making room for people whose connection to Wilton did not end with a Wilton diploma. Anyone who attended Wilton School but graduated from another school is welcome to attend. Reservations can be made by contacting Constance White at 517-581-5283 or through Facebook.

The reunion tradition also continues online, where a Wilton alumni site keeps photos, reunion materials and contact information for organizers, including wiltonhighalumni@gmail.com. For former students spread across Ohio and beyond, that blend of in-person gathering and digital recordkeeping helps preserve the memory of Wilton as a living community, not just a name in local history.
