Brother stabs sibling in late-night Raleigh domestic dispute
A late-night stabbing on Shadowland Crossing left one Raleigh man injured and his brother detained, with police later charging Anthony Perry, 52.

A northeast Raleigh brother was detained and later charged after police say he stabbed his sibling inside a residential block off Old Wake Forest Road, sending officers to Shadowland Crossing shortly before 11 p.m. and leaving one man injured in a late-night family dispute.
Officers responded to the 6300 block of Shadowland Crossing, near Litchford Road and Capital Boulevard, after a stabbing report came in late Wednesday night. When they arrived, they found one man with a stab wound, and police said the person they detained was his brother.
The victim was taken for medical treatment and was expected to be OK. Court records later identified the arrested man as Anthony Perry, 52, who was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police have not released what led to the confrontation.
The location put the incident in a busy pocket of northeast Raleigh, just off major roads that connect neighborhoods with the rest of the city. A violent call there can trigger a fast police and EMS response, and it can also leave nearby residents waking to emergency lights, officers working the scene and questions about whether anyone dangerous is still nearby. In this case, police moved quickly enough to identify a suspect at the scene and take him into custody.

The response also underscores how a domestic stabbing call reaches beyond the people directly involved. Even when the violence stems from a family argument, it can pull in patrol officers, detectives, emergency medical crews and hospital staff, while neighbors are left trying to understand what happened in a place they know well.
Raleigh police say the city is divided into six districts, including Northeast, and the Northeast District station is at 5230 Greens Dairy Road. The department says its goal is to make Raleigh one of the safest cities in the United States, a mission that is tested in cases like the Shadowland Crossing stabbing, where a household dispute turned into a serious felony investigation in a residential section of the city.
