Holly Springs Spring Fling Offers Free Egg Hunts and Family Fun March 21
Free egg hunts split by age drew Holly Springs families to 101 Sportsmanship Way on March 21, with the Easter Bunny, inflatables and local sponsors in tow.

The Town of Holly Springs Parks & Recreation Department brought its annual Spring Fling to the North Main Athletic Complex, formerly known as Ting Park, at 101 Sportsmanship Way on the morning of March 21, drawing families from across the area for two hours of free seasonal programming.
The event was free to attend and geared primarily toward children ages 8 and younger, offering what organizers described as "a morning of games, activities, bunny meet & greet, and huge egg hunts." Inflatables and bunny meet-and-greets rounded out the lineup alongside the free games and activities.
The signature draw was a pair of age-separated egg hunts designed to keep the scramble manageable for the smallest participants. The town offered twice the fun with two hunts targeted to specific age groups: children ages 0 to 4 had their hunt at 11 a.m., while children ages 5 and older went at noon. The North Main Athletic Complex's wide, open layout accommodated large crowds while keeping activities accessible and easy to navigate for parents with young children.
Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Director LeeAnn Plumer set the tone for the spring season ahead of the event, saying, "Our team curated a season full of high-energy events that celebrate our local talent and our Town's vibrant spirit. We invite everyone, from our youngest residents to our seniors, to come out, join the fun, and make some lasting memories with us."
While admission was free, some vendor-hosted activities included a small fee. Families with questions about specific activities could reach the complex at 919-746-8300.
This year's Spring Fling was supported by several local sponsors, including Blaze Triangle, a home services company covering heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, and generators; Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate; and Julia Smith, Broker and Realtor.
Spring Fling has become a staple on the town's seasonal calendar, and the event reflects Holly Springs' broader focus on community programming, bringing together local families, nonprofits, and businesses in a shared, family-oriented setting. From the Spring Fling with its family egg hunt to the traditional Happy Holly Days Parade, the town's year is marked by numerous opportunities for the community to come together. Spring Fling arrived several weeks ahead of Easter weekend, which falls April 3 through April 5 this year, positioning it as one of the first major seasonal gatherings on the Wake County calendar.
