A "permanently closed" sign appeared on the door of Jaguar Bolera at Raleigh Iron Works last week, ending the run of one of Raleigh's more distinctive entertainment concepts without any public announcement from management.

The two-story venue had carved out a niche in the Iron Works campus by combining duckpin bowling, karaoke, a self-serve tap wall and an elevated Mexican-Southern menu. Drinks were sold through a pay-by-the-ounce system, a format unusual enough to draw regulars from across the region. The closure left roughly 23,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space sitting empty inside the redeveloped industrial campus off Capital Boulevard.

A former employee confirmed the closing to the News & Observer and said staff had been moving out of the space in the days before the sign went up. Nearby tenants and patrons said the shutdown landed with little to no advance notice, and no statement from Jaguar Bolera management has been issued to explain the decision.

The silence extended to the brand's digital presence. As of the time local outlets reported the closure, Jaguar Bolera's official website still listed the Raleigh location as open with regular hours, complete with address and phone numbers. The Iron Works tenant directory similarly showed the venue as an active tenant. That gap between what the door said and what the internet said pointed to a shutdown handled quickly and internally.

The closure also ends any remaining possibility of a previously floated expansion idea: plans for outdoor pickleball courts associated with the venue never advanced beyond the concept stage.

Iron Works property management has not issued a public statement about the vacancy or a timeline for re-leasing the space. At 23,000 square feet across two floors, the gap is significant for a campus that has positioned itself as a dining and entertainment destination since its redevelopment.
