One killed, four injured in late-night shooting near Zebulon
A late-night shooting near Todd Park left Lemonz Feikhem Williams dead and four others wounded as deputies closed Mack Todd Road and West Barbee Street.

A late-night shooting near Todd Park left one man dead and four others injured Wednesday at Mack Todd Road and West Barbee Street, shutting down the intersection and drawing a heavy law enforcement response in eastern Wake County.
Wake County sheriff’s deputies were called around 10:40 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Zebulon. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds and rushed them to a hospital with serious injuries. A third man was found at the scene and pronounced dead there, authorities said.
Later, a juvenile male and another adult man walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds that investigators believe were tied to the same shooting, raising the total number of victims to five. WRAL identified the man killed as Lemonz Feikhem Williams, 21.
Witnesses told WRAL the shooting unfolded as a party in a large field was ending and people were leaving the gathering. Authorities have not said what prompted the gunfire, and no arrests had been made as investigators continued to sort through the scene.

The intersection remained closed while deputies processed evidence, and officials urged people to stay away from the area. The closure affected traffic near Todd Park and the rural roads that connect Zebulon to the surrounding eastern Wake County communities, where many residents rely on Mack Todd Road and West Barbee Street for local travel.
Zebulon Mayor Jessica Daniels Harrison said the shooting happened near Todd Park after the evening event and, although it was outside the town limits, it still reached deep into the wider community. She offered condolences to Williams’ family, thoughts for the injured and gratitude for first responders who moved quickly to the scene.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information to call 919-856-6911. With one young man dead, four others recovering and the road still closed during the investigation, the shooting has become the latest violent episode to unsettle the growing Zebulon area.
