San Luis Announces January Tree Drop-Off Program for Residents
The City of San Luis Public Works Department will host its Annual Christmas Tree Drop-Off Program from January 2 through February 13, 2026, offering residents a designated location and hours to dispose of natural trees safely and responsibly. The program helps Yuma County residents avoid curbside clutter and supports local waste management efforts by setting clear rules for acceptable drop-offs.

The City of San Luis will reopen its Annual Christmas Tree Drop-Off Program beginning Friday, January 2, 2026, and running through Friday, February 13, 2026. Residents may bring natural Christmas trees to the Public Works Yard at 1311 N. 4th Avenue, San Luis, Arizona, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The program is managed by the City of San Luis Public Works Department and is intended to provide a safe, environmentally responsible way for households to dispose of natural trees after the holiday season. Only natural trees will be accepted; artificial trees are not permitted. All decorations, tinsel, wires, hooks, and bags must be removed prior to drop-off to ensure trees can be handled and processed without safety or contamination concerns.
For Yuma County residents, the drop-off window offers a convenient alternative to leaving trees at the curb or attempting to place bulky yard waste in regular trash containers. A centralized site reduces the risk of trees becoming roadside hazards and gives residents a defined place and schedule for disposal. The City encourages residents to plan their trips during the posted hours to avoid early-morning congestion and to ensure staff can receive trees safely.
The Public Works Yard is located at 1311 N. 4th Avenue; staff will accept trees during the weekday hours listed. For additional information or questions, residents may contact the Public Works Department at (928) 341-8577.

This annual service returns as local governments across the region manage post-holiday solid waste needs and offer residents practical options that support municipal operations. By following the preparation rules and using the San Luis drop-off site, residents can contribute to a smoother transition from the holiday period to routine municipal services while reducing potential hazards from improperly discarded trees.
Residents who cannot make weekday drop-off times should contact the Public Works Department for guidance. The City’s program is one of several local measures that help keep neighborhoods clear and support the broader waste management work conducted by municipal crews throughout Yuma County.
