San Luis Council Seeks Community Feedback at Denny's Conversation Feb. 7
San Luis council members will hold a “Conversation(s) with Council” at Denny's on Feb. 7 so residents can raise concerns about local projects and city priorities.

San Luis city leaders will take questions from residents at a breakfast meeting scheduled at Denny's, 1541 Main St, on Saturday, Feb. 7, starting at 9:00 a.m. The event is billed as a chance for neighbors to "voice their concerns about city issues and learn about future projects," and officials say it will be an outreach opportunity for direct public feedback.
A city public notice carries the headline "Possible Quorum- February 2026" and states, "Notice is hereby given that a majority of the San Luis City Council may be present at the following event(s)." The notice makes clear that "No city business will be taken at the event(s) listed above." Residents with questions are asked to call the City Clerk's office at (928) 341-8520.
Organizers left some details open. The public notice lists the event under the title "Conversations with Council," with a start time of 9:00 a.m., while local reporting described the gathering as "Conversation with Council" and said it would run from 9 to 10 a.m. That report also noted the meeting location as Denny's on Main Street near Walmart. The city notice provides the restaurant's full street address, 1541 Main St, San Luis, AZ 85349.
City Public Information Officer Francia Alonso highlighted the themes planners expect to discuss. "Big projects in the city right now are the port of entry project, the change of pedestrians crossings into Mexico, and the Cesar Chavez Blvd. roject," said Francia Alonso, Cty of San Luis PIO. The phrasing preserves the projects listed for discussion; attendees can expect officials to focus on cross-border pedestrian changes, progress on the port of entry and work along Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
Organizers said the meetings are intended to recur on a roughly bimonthly basis. "Conversation with Council is going to be held once every other month. The next one will be in April," the local report stated. The public notice does not list a recurrence schedule.
For Yuma County residents, the gathering is a low-barrier chance to put local priorities directly before officials outside a formal council chamber. The possible quorum notice means a majority of council members may attend, but the city has signaled no votes or formal business will take place at the restaurant meeting. Those with 관심 in specific projects or with accessibility questions can call the City Clerk at (928) 341-8520 for logistics, and plan to bring concise concerns to the table, literally, at the Feb. 7 conversation.
