Yuma County Airport Authority Board Convenes Regular March Meeting
The Yuma County Airport Authority's 11-member board gathered March 10 at the airport's second-floor conference room for its regular monthly session.

The Yuma County Airport Authority convened its regular March board meeting Tuesday at the Yuma International Airport conference room on the second floor of the terminal at 2191 E. 32nd Street, Suite 218, with the board called to order at 4:00 p.m.
Draft minutes from the meeting were posted following the session, though the available record of the presiding officer's name was incomplete in the initial documentation. The meeting fell on the second Tuesday of the month, consistent with the YCAA's standing schedule, which places board meetings on that day every month at 4:00 p.m.
The 11-member board operates under procedures that allow members attending by electronic communication to be counted as present and eligible to vote on agenda items. Committee meetings, which are ad hoc in nature, can be called with just 24 hours' notice, with directors notified by email or telephone.
Agendas for board and committee meetings are posted electronically on the airport's website 24 hours before each session. A printed copy is also made available on the bulletin board outside the Airport Administration office on the terminal's second floor. Past meeting records show the regular agenda typically includes a monthly financial report from the Chief Financial Officer, along with approval of prior meeting minutes and any standing business before the board.
The YCAA's committee structure includes bodies focused on finance, strategic planning, public relations, and election and personnel matters. In 2025, those committees met several times ahead of monthly board sessions, with the Finance Committee convening March 4, the Strategic Planning Committee meeting March 18, and the Public Relations Committee gathering April 16.
Yuma International Airport operates as an aviation partner with Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, an arrangement rooted in a land patent dating to February 14, 1956. That agreement allows unrestricted civil aviation use of the airfield's runways and taxiways and preserves Yuma County's ability to collect and retain landing fees. The YCAA's long-range planning documents have outlined goals including developing air freight business with carriers such as FedEx and UPS, pursuing scheduled international flights, and growing cargo operations.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for the second Tuesday of April at 4:00 p.m. at the same conference room location in the airport terminal.
