The department posted the alert on its blog under the headline “PGPD Searches for Missing Child” on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
“Mekhi is a Black male, who is approximately 5'1" tall and 115 pounds,” the PGPD post states, providing the official physical description investigators are circulating to patrols and partners. Authorities say he was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, black sweatpants, and colorful sneakers.

Local group A Voice For The Voiceless, Inc., based in Bowie, amplified the alert on Facebook and Instagram, listing Mekhi’s age, the Feb. 14 time and Saville Lane location and repeating the 5'1", 115-pound description. The Facebook post, captioned “MISSING CHILD ALERT: Mekhi Stewart,” urged residents to share the notice and stressed that “Every share increases visibility and helps keep his name and face circulating in the community.” The captured post showed 413 reactions, 103 comments, and 708 shares at the time it was recorded.
