47th Annual Runnin’ O’ the Green March 14 Benefits Camp Grassick

Jamestown residents and visitors age 21 and older will again turn out for a St. Patrick’s Day–themed social run that raises money for Camp Grassick and the North Dakota Elks Major Project. The 47th Annual Runnin’ O’ the Green is set for Saturday, March 14, with participants gathering at Frontier Fort, 1838 3rd Ave SE, Jamestown.

CSi News Now calls the event “one of Jamestown’s most festive and spirited traditions” and reports the event begins with a noon gathering and that “the first heat is scheduled to start at 2 pm.” The AllEvents listing for the race also shows a 12:00 PM (CDT) start at Frontier Fort, suggesting noon will serve as check‑in and social time before the first wave at 2:00 p.m.

Registration for the event opens Friday, March 13, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jamestown Elks Club. Entry fees reported by CSi are $10 for run registration and $30 for registration that includes an event shirt; shirts can also be ordered through Wildside Creations. Organizers require participants to be at least 21 years old and to carry a photo ID during the event.

The annual event combines a social run with stops at several local establishments, all while raising money for Camp Grassick and other charitable causes. The course will guide runners and walkers past or into The Fort/Frontier Fort, Buff, Club 1883, the Elks Club, Corner Bar, Jonny B’s, Fred’s Den, The Wooly, All Vets Club and Shady’s, according to CSi’s route listing.

Since 2008, Runnin’ O’ the Green “has raised more than $360,000 to support Camp Grassick and the North Dakota Elks Major Project,” CSi reports. Those funds, CSi adds, “have helped provide services to individuals with special needs and supported hundreds of cancer patients throughout North Dakota.” Those wishing to donate by mail can send gifts for Camp Grassick to Jamestown Elks Club, P.O. Box 990, Jamestown, ND 58402.
