Activision Confirms Black Ops 7 Season 2 Reloaded Will Feature No Crossovers

Activision confirmed that Black Ops 7 Season 2 Reloaded will not include any collaborations or crossover events, with the publisher saying the season is meant to "stand alone." The studio’s statement follows fan speculation on a DETONATED post and ends a run of recent crossovers that last occurred in Black Ops Cold War Season 4.

Windows Central’s screenshot report fills in the seasonal content that will carry the update without crossovers: Season 2 Reloaded will "drop five new maps" for Multiplayer, including Cliff Town, a reimagining of the cliff-side town originally seen in Black Ops 2's "Yemen" map. Grind will return to 6v6 playlists after being reintroduced during the TMNT crossover in Black Ops 6, and Firing Range will also reappear after featuring in last year’s Black Ops 6 multiplayer.

Endgame receives new material in Season 2 Reloaded as well. Windows Central describes Endgame as "reminiscent of the DMZ mode and Modern Warzone Zombies experiences" and reports the addition of a Glitch Fracture that teleports players off-map to a new arena where they face waves of enemies and eventually a Glitch Boss. The update also brings a new exotic fabricator system for weapon upgrades; Windows Central notes "there are three upgrades available, with the first upgrading weapon rarity while the second provides an additional utility bonus and the third introduces a random exotic effect." The report adds that players with fully upgraded or named Exotic weapons can use the fabricator to reroll either the bonus or exotic effect, but that this is "a one-time-use reward."

IGGM’s timeline reporting offers a partial schedule tied to the challenge cycle but includes contradictory lines that need clarification. IGGM writes, "Judging from the official weekly challenge illustrations, the first part of Season 2 will last for 5 weeks, with the ultimate reward being Sword of Swords, ending on March 12th." The same IGGM piece also states, "Completing all 8 weeks of challenges means Season 2 Reloaded update will only last 3 weeks," a phrasing that conflicts with the five-week claim and requires confirmation from Activision on the official challenge cadence and dates.

IGGM also highlighted mode and event possibilities tied to the non-crossover roadmap. "With the release of Paradox Junction map, there will be a leaderboard event," IGGM reports, and it says Warzone will see "the return of Blackout mode." IGGM reasons that "when classic maps like Verdansk returned, the developers planned a nearly month-long grand event for them. Therefore, Blackout mode will very likely also have its own dedicated event, including challenges and rewards." Those event expectations remain speculative until Activision confirms dates and reward structures.
