APP Japan SKECHERS Open registration opens for international field
Registration opens today for the APP Japan SKECHERS Open 2026; players must complete JPA registration and link DUPR before entering.

Registration for the APP JAPAN SKECHERS Open 2026 opened at 12:00 a.m. on January 14, giving players across Japan and abroad the chance to enter the international tournament in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. The event runs February 26 to March 1, 2026, and organizers expect a high volume of entries across general, junior, wheelchair, and team categories.
This tournament is designed for competitive players as well as those seeking new challenges and opportunities for exchange and connection, and it will welcome both domestic and overseas competitors. Entry for the PRO category is not yet open; match formats for PRO are still being coordinated with the Association of Pickleball Professionals, so pro-level entrants should watch for a separate announcement.
Organizers stress two administrative prerequisites that will block entries if not completed. First, players must finish Japan Pickleball Association player registration on the Tournated platform before attempting to enter the tournament. To register, go to games.japanpickleball.org/ja, click Sign Up at the top right, then click Purchase License, select the appropriate registration type, and complete payment. Second, players must link their Tournated account with their DUPR account to avoid errors during entry. To link accounts, open the three-dot menu at the top right of your Tournated profile, select Sports and Licenses, and click Connect to DUPR next to your DUPR ID.
The JPA notice also warns that browser cache problems have caused failed linkages in some cases. Using Google Chrome’s Incognito Mode is recommended if you run into issues. With many entries expected, completing these steps in advance will improve your chances of securing slots in crowded draws and avoid last-minute headaches.

For juniors and wheelchair players, the inclusion of dedicated categories reinforces the tournament’s role as an accessible international stage. Team events add social and club-level opportunities, making the Open attractive for players looking to combine competition with networking and community building. Tournament Director Yoon sung LEE and the organizing team encourage early preparation to handle the anticipated demand.
The takeaway? Treat registration like match prep: set up your JPA account, link DUPR early, and use Chrome Incognito if linkage fails. Get your entry in soon if you want a spot, and plan travel and lodging now so you can focus on your game when the tournament arrives.
