Apple Confirms WWDC 2026 for June 8-12, Highlighting AI and New Software
Apple named June 8-12 for WWDC 2026, explicitly promising "AI advancements" — a rare tease that signals Apple Intelligence will dominate its 37th developers conference.

Apple kicked off registration season for its biggest developer event of the year on Monday, announcing that WWDC 2026 will run June 8 through 12, with artificial intelligence front and center for the first time in the conference's official pre-event language.
The company said WWDC26 will "spotlight incredible updates for Apple platforms, including AI advancements and exciting new software and developer tools." The phrasing caught immediate attention: this marks the first WWDC preview announcement to feature the term "AI," a notable departure for a company that typically reveals little before the keynote camera rolls.
Last year, Apple focused WWDC on its "Liquid Glass" interface design, with AI largely unmentioned. The explicit promise this time around carries weight given that context. Apple has been expected to launch a new Siri with advanced AI capabilities, and earlier this year signed a deal with Google to use Gemini to power AI features on its platform. Reports suggest Apple is preparing a major evolution of its Apple Intelligence features, with a particular focus on Siri, which Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has previously reported is being tested as a more advanced conversational AI assistant.
WWDC kicks off with the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union on Monday, June 8, followed by over 100 video sessions and interactive group labs and appointments, where developers can connect directly with Apple engineers and designers. The keynote is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple's annual developer conference is where it will unveil iOS 27, macOS 27, and more. The entire online conference is free to all developers, with content available through the Apple Developer app, Apple's website, and YouTube; developers can also follow the conference on bilibili in China.
Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, framed the week as a communal milestone. "WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it's a chance for our incredible global developer community to come together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation, and collaboration," she said in the announcement. "We can't wait to see many of you online and in person for what is sure to be one of our best WWDC events yet."
The in-person dimension returns to Apple Park in Cupertino on June 8. Attendance is not open to the public: current Apple Developer Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, prior Swift Student Challenge winners, and current Apple Developer Enterprise Program members are eligible to enter, with participants chosen through a random lottery. The submission window closes at 11:59 p.m. PT on Monday, March 30.
The Swift Student Challenge adds a separate track. Winners of this year's challenge will be announced on March 26 and will be eligible to apply for the Apple Park event. Fifty Distinguished Winners will also receive invitations to Cupertino for a dedicated three-day experience.
All eyes now turn to June 8, when WWDC 2026 is expected to detail Apple's AI direction across platforms — and whether the company can move past the incremental AI criticism that followed last year's conference.
