Burghers Brewing Co., founded by chef-operator Fiore Moletz with brewmaster Neil Glausier, will relocate and expand into the space formerly occupied by Sly Fox Brewing Company at The Highline on Pittsburgh’s South Side, while Murrysville’s A Slice of New York Squared will open in Burghers Tiny Pub at 319 E. Carson Street, the businesses announced this week. The move maps Burghers into a larger taproom footprint and gives A Slice a downtown anchor on Carson Street.

Moletz framed the swap as growth that preserves the brand’s identity, saying, “This expansion allows us to grow without compromising who we are. It gives us room to brew more, build more, and create more.” Burghers, known for chef-driven smash burgers, ethical local sourcing, a GABF silver medal, and a James Beard–recognized burger concept, operates additional locations in Zelienople, Lawrenceville, and Millvale, and plans to use the Highline space to expand kitchen capabilities and seating.

Inside the expanded brewery Burghers will debut a new Burghers Pizza concept that reinvents its smash-burger flavors on fermented dough. Moletz described the program this way: “We've spent years perfecting flavor balance inside a bun. Now we're rebuilding that experience on fermented dough. It's playful, but it's serious.” Each Burghers Pizza will be designed and paired with one of the brewery’s beers, integrating the taproom and kitchen in a menu-first approach that Burghers teased on its Facebook page as “a brand-new Burghers Pizza concept will debut inside the expanded brewery alongside the wildly famous smashburgers.”

A Slice of New York Squared founder Sean Jefairjian said the Carson Street location will pursue the Murrysville shop’s sourdough square-pie craft, adding, “This is about honoring authentic New York pizza while continuing to build something meaningful in Pittsburgh. Carson Street deserves something serious.” The Pittsburgh outpost will emphasize slow-fermented sourdough, premium ingredients, and a process-driven focus on texture and structure; A Slice’s Murrysville shop earned a high score during a 2024 Barstool “One Bite” visit.

The Highline space became available after Sly Fox Brewing vacated the location; Beaver County Radio reported that Sly Fox “closed its doors for good on February 25th, 2026.” Patch mapped the operational swap precisely, noting A Slice will occupy Burghers Tiny Pub at 319 E. Carson Street while Burghers moves into the former Sly Fox footprint at The Highline.

Neither Burghers nor A Slice has published firm opening dates; Patch and other outlets say grand opening dates and preview events “will be announced soon.” For now the pair present a deliberate strategy: expand brewing and kitchen capacity at The Highline, relaunch Burghers Pizza tied to beer pairings, and give Carson Street a nationally noticed pizzeria in A Slice of New York Squared.
