Collin College to Offer No-Cost Adult Education at Dillard Center in March
Collin College will offer no-cost Adult Education and Literacy classes at Allen ISD’s Dillard Special Achievement Center beginning March 2026 for Collin County adults 19 and older.

Collin College will deliver no-cost Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) classes at Allen ISD’s Dillard Special Achievement Center beginning March 2026, the district announced, opening local access to “training and prep courses” for Collin County residents. The offering is part of Collin College’s AEL off-campus sites and is described in social posts and the district update as “No-cost training and prep programs.”
The AEL program, promoted under the tagline “Catch Up, Gain Skills, Succeed.,” is a Texas Workforce Commission program designed for adults 19 and older seeking career growth. Collin College materials list the program’s services as help improving basic skills - reading, writing, math, and English - plus English as a Second Language (ESL), General Education Development (GED) preparation, career growth and job training. Collin College has been awarded a grant to provide services and expand the AEL program.
Adults who meet the program’s qualification rules can enroll for FREE. Collin College’s enrollment guidance lists required identification documents as a U.S. Passport; a state-issued driver’s license or ID card from any U.S. state (no limited-term IDs accepted); a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card); or an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). The program text also states, “Must have Social Security Card presented with additional documentation.” The college notes, “If you do not have a Collin College XID Account number please reach out for more information.”
To complete enrollment forms, Collin College directs prospective students to its Plano Spring Creek Campus at 2800 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Suite J112, Plano, TX 75074. Prospective students can also contact the AEL department by emailing ael@collin.edu or calling 469.365.1952. Orientation for AEL is scheduled at Collin College locations “Every Tuesday at the Technical Campus and Thursday at the Frisco Campus,” per the program materials.

Allen ISD’s announcement and Collin College’s social posts specifically identify Dillard Special Achievement Center as the March site; the program’s off-campus listing and the college’s “Start Date: March 2026” entry align with the district posting. Collin College notes that since offering its first classes at area high schools in 1985 it has expanded to 10 locations and iCollin, underscoring the college’s countywide footprint as it deploys the grant-funded AEL expansion.
The March rollout at Dillard brings locally offered GED prep, ESL and basic skills classes to Collin County residents while Collin College administers the Texas Workforce Commission-funded program. Enrollment requires the listed documentation and an in-person completion step at the Plano Spring Creek Campus; adults 19 and older who qualify can reach the AEL office at ael@collin.edu or 469.365.1952 for next steps as classes begin in March 2026.
