David Davis' GoFundMe Nears Goal to Buy AEDs for Timberlake First Responders
Athol resident David Davis' GoFundMe has raised $2,200 toward a $3,000 goal to buy portable AEDs for the Timberlake Fire Protection District after his wife Cynthia needed continuous CPR.
Athol resident David Davis launched a GoFundMe to buy portable automated external defibrillators for the Timberlake Fire Protection District and had raised $2,200 toward a $3,000 goal as of Friday. Davis started the campaign after his wife, Cynthia Davis, experienced a life‑threatening medical event that required continuous CPR.
Coeur d’Alene Press published a courtesy photo caption naming “Cynthia Davis, David Davis and Jaxx the dog,” and reported that Davis organized the crowdfunding to put AEDs into the hands of on‑call or off‑duty responders so they can act immediately when cardiac arrest occurs. The campaign uses the GoFundMe platform and lists the $3,000 target to purchase portable devices for the Timberlake agency.
Davis has registered a new nonprofit, the Idaho 10-33 Foundation, with the state and is pursuing nonprofit status. Davis said, “Rapid defibrillation is one of the most effective interventions during sudden cardiac arrest, and equipping firefighters with modern AED devices strengthens emergency readiness across the region.” He added that the foundation will work via fundraising and partnerships: “Through community partnerships, fundraising initiatives and grant development, the foundation helps ensure emergency personnel have the tools they need when seconds matter most.”
Local business Iron Pizza Company has partnered with Davis and is scheduled to host a fundraiser from 4 p.m. to closing Thursday, March 19, at 29801 N Old Hwy 95 in Athol. The event will include a silent auction and a portion of food sales will be donated to the AED fundraising initiative, according to the reporting.

The Idaho 10-33 Foundation is described in the coverage as “dedicated to strengthening public safety by providing critical equipment and resources to Idaho’s first responders, with a focus on volunteer and rural agencies.” Davis has said the foundation will target volunteer and rural agencies across Idaho, and is pursuing grant development and community partnerships to expand beyond the Timberlake Fire Protection District.
