Duff Solar Project Funds More Than $15,000 for Dubois Schools, 4-H, Conservation
EDP Renewables pledged more than $15,000 to Dubois County schools, 4‑H programs and conservation groups tied to the 100 MW Duff Solar Park near Huntingburg.

EDP Renewables North America announced a suite of community donations totaling more than $15,000 targeted at schools, 4‑H programming and local conservation groups in Dubois County, tying the gifts to its Duff Solar project, the company said in its project materials. The announcement links the contribution directly to developer activity around the Duff Solar Park, located in Dubois County west of the town of Huntingburg.
Duff Solar Park is listed in EDPR NA materials with an installed capacity of 100 MW and an estimated commercial operation of 2025. The developer’s fact sheet frames the project as utility-scale and projects it will "support the state of Indiana’s electric grid," while also asserting the site will aid national energy security by diversifying domestic supply.
EDPR NA’s materials present specific lifetime economic estimates for the Duff project: "$150+ million CAPITAL INVESTMENT," "$30+ million WOULD BE PAID TO LANDOWNERS," and "$8 million WOULD BE PAID TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS," with the fact sheet also stating "Millions of dollars WOULD BE SPENT LOCALLY." The company’s materials say those local government payments would benefit schools, health and fire departments, and the township and county.
On jobs and output, EDPR NA lists "PERMANENT JOBS3 2 jobs would be created" and "CONSTRUCTION JOBS3 500 jobs would be created." The developer calculates energy output as "equivalent to the average consumption of more than 19,200 Indiana homes," adding that the power generation figure is based on a 25% capacity factor and 2023 EIA household consumption averages.

EDPR NA’s public materials also include developer claims about local impacts and panel construction. The fact sheet states, "Solar projects are essentially silent neighbors designed to capture light while not producing glare, and the vegetation maintained beneath the panels helps mitigate the possibility of heat increases." It adds that "EDPR NA’s solar panels are made up of a thin layer of solar PV cells sealed on both sides. Panels contain no liquids or materials that pose a risk to the environment or human health."
The announcement does not name specific recipient schools, 4‑H clubs or conservation organizations, nor does the project material specify whether the gifts are being distributed immediately or contingent on project milestones. EDPR NA’s booklet carries the notice "© 2025 EDP Renewables North America. All Rights Reserved."
As Duff Solar Park moves toward its estimated 2025 commercial operation, the developer’s pledge of more than $15,000 and its $150+ million investment projection are likely to shape local landowner payments and municipal revenues in Dubois County, while the absence of named recipients and timing leaves school leaders, 4‑H organizers and conservation groups waiting for detail.
