Extended Stay America Opens 104-Room Sterling Hotel Near Hospital, College, Rail Employers
A two-story, 104-room Extended Stay America Select Suites opened Feb 17, 2026 in Sterling, owned by Colorado Hospitality Services, placing long-stay rooms steps from Sterling Regional MedCenter and Northeastern Junior College.

Extended Stay America Select Suites, Sterling, a two-story, 104-room hotel developed and owned by Colorado Hospitality Services (CHS), opened Feb 17, 2026 in Sterling, Colorado. The property sits minutes from Sterling Regional MedCenter, Sterling City Hall and Northeastern Junior College, and within easy reach of employers including BNSF Railway, Union Pacific and Unisco, as well as manufacturers Sterling Ethanol LLC and Sterling Component Systems.
The hotel’s suites come equipped with full kitchens that include a stovetop, microwave and full-size refrigerator, positioning the property for guests staying multiple nights or weeks. On-site guest laundry, complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed internet access are available, and the hotel also features an indoor swimming pool plus a recreation room with pool tables and foosball. HospitalityCareerProfile and Lodging Magazine list flexible booking options as part of the Select Suites product aimed at business professionals, relocating families and project-based workers.
Bruce Rahmani, owner and principal of Colorado Hospitality Services, said the property reflects CHS’s approach to lodging in Sterling: “Our goal is to provide guests with a reliable, comfortable place to stay that feels more like home.” Extended Stay America framed the opening as part of a broader brand push; Select Suites launched in 2022 and now operates in more than 200 locations per recent press coverage.
Extended Stay America’s franchise development arm describes the Select Suites expansion as largely driven by conversions and owner-led growth. “Extended Stay America continues to grow its Select Suites brand through strategic conversions, providing owners with a proven, scalable extended-stay model tailored to today’s long-term travelers,” said Mark Williams, managing director, franchise development, Extended Stay America. Company materials also note a recent rollout of “Client Connect,” a business travel platform introduced in July to offer partnerships, discounted rates and simplified booking for extended-stay guests.
Economically, the new 104 rooms add meaningful lodging capacity in Sterling’s downtown and industrial corridor, supplying space for hospital staff on temporary assignments, visiting families of college students at Northeastern Junior College, and rail and manufacturing crews working on multiweek projects. Colorado Hospitality Services is listed as the developer and owner, indicating private capital rather than a city-funded project.
Practical takeaway for Sterling travelers: the hotel’s full kitchens, laundry and recreation amenities are designed for stays longer than a typical overnight, and its location near Sterling Regional MedCenter and the rail yards targets workers and visitors who regularly need multi-night accommodations. The Sterling property is the latest addition to Extended Stay America Select Suites’ growing footprint in Colorado and nationwide.
