FaZe Vegas sweeps Cloud9 New York to stay tied for CDL lead
FaZe Vegas swept Cloud9 New York to move to 4-1 in CDL Stage 1 qualifying and remain tied with OpTic Texas for first place.

FaZe Vegas continued its rebound from an opening-day loss, sweeping Cloud9 New York 3-0 on Saturday as Week 4 of Call of Duty League Stage 1 qualifying progressed. The clean win was FaZe’s fourth straight and moved the team to 4-1, tied atop the standings with OpTic Texas and strengthening its position for favorable seeding at Major 1 in Dallas.
The afternoon slate featured three matches with momentum swings that matter for seeding even though all 12 teams will reach the Major. Miami Heretics handed Boston Breach a 3-1 defeat, while the Carolina Royal Ravens rallied past Toronto KOI 3-1. These outcomes shape the map differential and CDL point totals that determine which teams start Major 1 in the upper bracket and which begin in the lower bracket.
Miami’s win over Boston opened with a razor-close Scar Hardpoint, 250-248, before Boston answered on Scar Search and Destroy, 6-4. Miami regained control with a 3-1 Den Overload and closed the match emphatically on Blackheart Hardpoint, 250-176. Toronto looked strong early against Carolina, taking Den Hardpoint 250-159, but the Royal Ravens swung the match with a 6-5 Den Search and Destroy, a 3-1 Scar Overload and a decisive 250-152 on Blackheart Hardpoint.
FaZe’s sweep of Cloud9 New York left little doubt. Vegas opened on Exposure Hardpoint with a dominant 250-128, followed by a 6-2 Colossus Search and Destroy and an 8-1 Exposure Overload to finish the match. That result not only extended FaZe’s streak but also improved their map differential at a critical point in qualifying.
Standings through Saturday show FaZe Vegas and OpTic Texas at 4-1 with plus-5 map differential; Riyadh Falcons sit 4-2 plus-3. Carolina Royal Ravens are 3-2 even, while Paris Gentle Mates and Toronto KOI are 3-2 plus-4. Miami Heretics are 3-3 plus-2; Los Angeles Thieves 2-2 minus-1; Boston Breach 2-3 minus-2; G2 Minnesota 1-4 minus-4; Cloud9 New York 1-4 minus-3; Vancouver Surge 1-5 minus-13.
Week 4 concludes with three more matches on Sunday: Cloud9 New York faces Boston Breach, G2 Minnesota takes on FaZe Vegas, and OpTic Texas meets Los Angeles Thieves. With each qualifying win worth 10 CDL points and map differential used as a tiebreaker, these remaining matches carry real stakes for bracket placement at Major 1, so follow the map counts as closely as the scores.
