February Free Termagant Giveaway Empties Iron Halo Coin Stash
Games Workshop gave away a free Tyranid Termagant as February’s Miniature of the Month, and in-store demand quickly pushed Iron Halo coin availability down at many locations.

Free Termagants in February proved to be more than a small hobby perk; the giveaway drove foot traffic and left Iron Halo coin availability thin at several stores. Warhammer Community confirmed the month’s free Miniature of the Month is a Termagant, available while stocks last, and stores have been seeing quick movement on the related collectibles and promotions.
The giveaway is strictly limited to one miniature per person, and practical pickup rules vary by location. Warhammer Community encouraged community chat, noting, "We’re pretty sure you have a few guesses already, because there are some very fist-happy tykes in the 41st Millennium. Tell us what you’ve got on our Facebook and Instagram pages, because we’ll actually read it there." Frontline Gaming warned readers that "supplies vary by store and run out fast," and advised asking staff how to claim the free mini.
Adam Harrison at Bell of Lost Souls drilled into the operational details many players will care about. He confirmed, "The free miniature of the month is a Termagant," and added that the model handed out may not match the promotional image: "Also, the one you receive may vary from the one pictured above. It’s no secret that many of the stores just pop a few boxes and build the miniatures they are giving away. So the odds are that yours will probably be slightly different." Harrison also flagged a regional pickup rule: "To claim your miniatures in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the UK, you will need to assemble them in-store."
The month’s collectible coin leans into Space Marine styling with an Iron Halo motif. Frontline Gaming summed the coin up with a hobby wink: "Although it will not block a chainsword, it will look great in a collection." Exact collection mechanics for the coin were not specified in the promotional copy available to readers; Frontline Gaming and community posts alike recommend asking your local Warhammer store how to collect it.

Shops are using the giveaway to dovetail into ongoing campaigns and entry-level offers. Frontline Gaming pointed to the Call to Arms campaign and the 1 Million Miniatures challenge as concurrent draws, and shared a practical paint recipe for the Termagant look - "If you want the showcased look, start with Wraithbone, Kakophoni Purple, and Screamer Pink." Stores are also offering pick-up incentives: bring a friend and they can choose a free Infernus Space Marine or a Stormcast Eternals Liberator and receive a painting tutorial plus a first game of Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
What this means for readers is straightforward: act early, ask staff, and expect some variability in the free mini you receive. The promotion is a low-friction way to test paint schemes, grow a pledged pile, or pick up a coin for your display - but if you want the full prize package, plan your store visit sooner rather than later.
