Flite and Axopar unveil inflatable eFoil built for boat use
Flite and Axopar revealed the Flite AIR x Axopar, an inflatable eFoil prototype designed to live on boats and expand onboard exploration; availability begins April 2026.

Flite and Finnish boatmaker Axopar revealed the Flite AIR x Axopar on January 17, 2026, a prototype eFoil engineered to be kept and launched from boats. The collaboration targets boat owners who want a buoyant, durable and easy-to-launch foil for anchor drops, archipelago runs and quiet-bay exploring, and signals a push to make eFoiling a routine part of the boat day.
Built around an air-filled structure for primary buoyancy, the Flite AIR x Axopar emphasizes ruggedness and simple boatboard handling over race-level performance. Designers added protective reinforcements at the nose and tail, three integrated grab handles and a bungee system for carrying gear. A boat-friendly storage and transport bag is offered as an option to keep the board tidy on deck and stowed below.
The prototype supports Flite’s interchangeable propulsion suite, including the fully shielded Flite Jet 2 as well as propeller-with-guard setups to reduce risk around swimmers and in prop-averse anchorages. Flitecell batteries are supported and the system is compatible with Axopar power bank options for fast charging onboard, putting battery logistics squarely within the boat’s existing power architecture rather than forcing shore-side charging runs.
Axopar showed the prototype at Boot Düsseldorf, and the companies have indicated final product availability from April 2026. Purchase routes include specifying the Flite AIR x Axopar as a factory option on new Axopar boats, ordering through selected Axopar dealers, or buying directly from Flite. That range of channels gives both new boat buyers and owners of existing boats multiple ways to adopt the platform.

For skippers and crew the practical value is straightforward: carrying an inflatable, reinforced eFoil on board expands safe riding windows and locations without relying on shore launches. The design choices — buoyant air construction, protected propulsion options and integrated handling points — lower the barrier for short hops off the transom, easier recovery when tired or rough, and safer operation around anchored swimmers and tender traffic.
Expect the announcement to accelerate boat-centric eFoil adoption: dealers will likely build demo fleets and owners will weigh propulsion and charging choices based on cruising grounds. Verify battery and charging setups with your dealer before purchase, and plan storage and deck-securement to keep gear shipshape. The Flite AIR x Axopar makes “stow and go” foiling more realistic for boaters, and April 2026 should reveal whether the prototype’s practical, safety-first approach wins widespread adoption.
