Former Chart-Topping Trio Member Shot in Hollywood, Florida, in Stable Condition

Rapper Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot Monday evening in the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, his representative and police confirmed. The 34-year-old Lawrenceville, Georgia, native rose to global prominence as one-third of the Atlanta hip-hop trio Migos.

A representative confirmed the rapper is "currently at the hospital receiving medical care" and "is stable and being closely monitored." The Seminole Police Department, in a statement that did not name Offset, said the incident occurred in the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood and resulted in injuries to one person who was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Seminole Police Department stated that officers were on site immediately and the situation was "contained quickly," with two individuals detained and the investigation ongoing. Video from the scene showed two people being taken into custody by police in front of the lobby entrance. As of Monday night, the department had not disclosed a motive, announced formal charges, or confirmed whether additional suspects were being sought. The site sits on Seminole tribal land, placing primary jurisdiction with the tribal police department rather than Broward County authorities. The department's initial statement referred only to "an individual" transported to the hospital, without naming the rapper.

The shooting adds to a documented pattern of gunfire in and around casino valet corridors. In July 2025, three people were killed and several others were injured in a shooting that unfolded in the valet area outside the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Monday's incident at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, one of the largest casino resorts in the southeastern United States, renewed scrutiny of external perimeter security at high-traffic entertainment venues, where valet zones present particular exposure. Hours after the Reno shooting, the entrance inside the casino leading to the valet area was roped off to guests and privacy screens were placed in front of the glass doors, a reactive posture that critics of venue security have noted tends to follow incidents rather than precede them.

The Atlanta rap classic "Bad and Boujee" topped the Billboard charts and propelled Migos to mainstream stardom. Although it was never officially announced, Migos was believed to have broken up by 2022, when Quavo and Takeoff released an album without Offset. Since then, Offset has three children with ex Cardi B, including Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 19 months, as well as three other children from previous relationships.

The Seminole Police Department had provided no timeline for completing its investigation or elevating the detentions to formal arrests as of Monday night.
