Forsyth County High Schools Named to 2025 AP Honor Roll
College Board named all Forsyth County high schools to the 2025 AP School Honor Roll, a boost to local college-readiness efforts and AP access.

All eight Forsyth County high schools earned spots on the 2025 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll, receiving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum distinctions for expanding access to AP coursework while supporting strong student performance, the district announced. The recognitions signal broader participation in college-level classes across Forsyth County campuses.
The announcement, made Feb. 6, 2026, lists Alliance Academy for Innovation as Platinum; Denmark High School, Lambert High School, South Forsyth High School and West Forsyth High School as Gold; Forsyth Central High School and North Forsyth High School as Silver; and East Forsyth High School as Bronze. The College Board secure-media list applied notation to some campuses: “★ New to the Honor Roll this year.” and “▲ Moved up to a higher tier on the Honor Roll this year.” East Forsyth shows the star marker as new to the list, while Forsyth Central and West Forsyth display triangles indicating they moved up a tier.

The AP School Honor Roll “recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation,” and is awarded annually based on criteria tied to increasing college culture, providing opportunities to earn college credit, and strengthening college readiness. Forsyth County Schools framed the district’s effort as part of a sustained investment in advanced coursework, educator training and student supports for postsecondary readiness.
District leadership highlighted the significance. “High expectations coupled with high levels of instruction and support lead to great results,” said Forsyth County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Mitch Young. “Landing on the College Board AP Honor Roll is an outstanding recognition of the hard work being put in by our [...] recognition of the hard work being put in by our students and their teachers!”
Forsyth County Schools serves a large and diverse student body — “55,000+ students representing 129 countries and 69 languages” — a scale that makes districtwide AP expansion notable for families weighing course offerings and college preparation. The district posted a shorter celebratory message on Instagram: “We are proud to announce that all seven of our comprehensive high schools have been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll!” The district press material lists eight recognized high schools, and the Instagram wording suggests one campus may be categorized differently; Alliance Academy for Innovation is a specialized campus and may not be counted among “comprehensive” high schools.
Private schools in Forsyth County also spotlighted AP recognition. Pinecrest Academy said its recent local awards “come on the heels of Pinecrest Academy’s recent designation as an AP Honor Roll School, platinum level,” and noted its Best Private School honors; Pinecrest lists its campus at 955 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, phone 770.888.4477, and email info@pinecrestacademy.org. The College Board secure-media list and the district press release remain the primary sources for the 2025 statewide Honor Roll notations.
For readers, the honors mean wider access to college-credit opportunities in local classrooms and potential advantages on college applications.
