Four Farmington-area high-school athletes signed letters of intent in front of family, coaches and teammates, committing to collegiate programs across the country, with the signings reported March 7, 2026. The commitments send Kirtland Central and Navajo Prep talent to Snead State Community College in Boaz, Ala.; Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D.; Cedar Crest Community College in Allentown, Pa.; and John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Kirtland Central senior Dallas Dan will continue her golf career at Snead State Community College in Boaz, Alabama. Dan was a member of two-time state championship runner-up teams, a four-time member of the Broncos district championship squad, and the winner of multiple high-school tournaments and amateur events with the Sun Country Junior Golf Association.

Kirtland Central senior Angel Acosta signed to play men’s soccer at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. A five-year starter for the Broncos boys program, Acosta finished his prep career with 76 goals, including 31 this past season, earned three First Team All-District selections and a District Player of the Year honor, and was named the Tri-City Record’s top boys soccer player during his junior campaign. Dakota Wesleyan competes in the NAIA’s Great Plains Athletic Conference and went 7-11-1 last fall under coach Nicolas Reinhard.

Navajo Prep senior Gabriele Manygoats has agreed to extend her athletic and academic career, signing letter of intent to attend Cedar Crest Community College in Allentown, Pa., where she will play volleyball. Manygoats recorded 112 kills and 56 aces as a senior; Navajo Prep finished the season 8-14 overall, 8-2 in District 1-3A, placed second in the district and closed the regular season on a three-match win streak.

Kirtland Central recent graduate Kyler Joe agreed to extend his scholastic and sports careers by signing a letter of intent to join John Brown University’s Golden Eagles men’s track and field team next season. Joe is a 14-time state medalist with state titles in 2021 and 2022 in the 4x100 relay and the 400-meter dash; he earned medals in the pole vault and 200-meter dash and set school records in his senior season, running the 200 in 22.19 seconds and the 400 in 48.83 seconds. Joe also had a decorated football career, converting 41 of 43 PATs in 2021 and setting a school single-game record with nine successful PATs, and he holds an associate degree with a 3.98 GPA, ranking eighth in a class of 160.

The four commitments illustrate a geographic sweep for San Juan County talent, from Boaz, Alabama to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and underscore the combination of athletic achievement and academic preparation coming out of Kirtland Central and Navajo Prep.
