Goochland Absentee Voting Opens March 6; Voter Registration and Ballot Deadlines Announced

Goochland voters will be able to cast absentee ballots in person beginning Friday, March 6, 2026, with a weekday absentee window running Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, April 17, 2026. The county lists Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. as the last day to vote absentee in person, and it sets Friday, April 10, 2026 as the final day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed.

Voter registration cutoffs for this spring cycle are anchored to Friday, April 14, 2026. The county specifies that the "Last day to register to vote or update voter registration: Friday, April 14, 2026 5 PM in person or 11:59 PM if submitted online or postmarked by this date." That means in‑person registration or updates must be completed by 5:00 p.m. April 14, while online submissions or postmarks are accepted through 11:59 p.m. on April 14.

Election Day in Goochland is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, with polling hours listed as 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the county page contains that Election Day line twice. A separate North Carolina State Board of Elections calendar lists North Carolina deadlines (for example, a March 3, 2026 primary and Feb. 12 early voting start), but those NCSBE dates apply to North Carolina and do not change Goochland’s Virginia schedule.
