Google Pixel 11 leaks point to $100 price hikes, 256GB base storage

Google’s August 12 Made by Google event in New York City is already shaping up as a value test: leaked Pixel 11 pricing points to an $899 base model, up $100 from the Pixel 10’s $799 starting price, but with 256GB of storage instead of 128GB. The core question for buyers is whether that is a real upgrade or another premium cycle built around modest gains and a higher bill.

Google has fed the speculation itself. Its store page teases, “The next generation. Google Pixel 11. August 12.” The invite imagery also appears to show a new Pixel phone that looks very similar to last year’s design, suggesting Google is not preparing a dramatic visual reset. Android Headlines says it has specs and pricing for the full Pixel 11 lineup, including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The rumored pricing structure points to a broader reset at the top of the lineup as well. Multiple reports say the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL could each rise by $100 too, with the higher storage floor helping explain why Google is asking for more at the entry point. That matters because the Pixel 10 already launched in 2025 at $799 and brought a 5x telephoto camera and a brighter 6.3-inch display, so the next jump is being judged against a phone that was not exactly bare-bones.

The feature leaks lean toward refinement rather than reinvention. Coverage cited in the lead-up to the launch points to a Tensor G5 chip, AI upgrades and camera improvements. Another rumor suggests the Pixel 11 Pro models could add glowing LEDs or a customizable RGB LED circle, a flourish that would stand out more as a design gimmick than a category-defining change.

Against rivals, the reported Pixel 11 base model would still have a sharp argument on storage. Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 with 128GB, so Google’s $899 Pixel 11 with 256GB would undercut Apple on both sticker price and base capacity. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, meanwhile, is already far off its peak on the resale market, with Swappa showing used units starting at $589 and averaging $766, a reminder of how quickly even top-tier phones can lose pricing power once the new-model cycle starts. If Google holds to the leaked numbers, August 12 will tell buyers whether the Pixel line is still competing on value or simply charging more for a larger box.
