Heljan Reveals OO Class 42 Warship, Limited DB Tribute Edition

Heljan has taken the model railway community by surprise with a decorated run of its long awaited OO gauge Class 42 Warship series, revealed to the trade on November 26, 2025. Alongside expected British liveries, the manufacturer produced a limited edition example presented in a Deutsche Bundesbahn inspired V200 style scheme, based on the historic DB tribute paint applied to preserved D821 Greyhound. That DB styled variant proved highly collectible, with pre orders moving rapidly and retailers reporting tight allocation.

The tooling for the new Class 42 models shows a clear emphasis on fine scale detail. Heljan and trade listings highlighted features such as fine lamp brackets, wire handrails, sandpipes and roof hatches, all intended to deliver a more convincing appearance on close inspection.
