Hernando County Education Foundation Holds Ribbon-Cutting, Opens Spring Hill Headquarters
The Hernando County Education Foundation held a public ribbon‑cutting March 8, 2026 to open its new Spring Hill headquarters at 5404 Applegate Drive.

The Hernando County Education Foundation held a public ribbon‑cutting March 8, 2026 to mark the opening of its new headquarters at 5404 Applegate Drive in Spring Hill, drawing school leaders, foundation staff and community partners to celebrate the move to a permanent Spring Hill location.
The foundation framed the relocation as a strategic expansion. In an announcement, HCEF said, “Spring Hill, FL — The Hernando County Education Foundation (HCEF) is excited to announce that we’re moving to a new home at 5404 Applegate Drive in Spring Hill, Florida! This relocation marks an exciting new chapter for the Foundation as we continue to grow, evolve, and expand our impact across Hernando County Schools.”
Organizers highlighted service continuity and short-term disruption. HCEF notified the public that “While our team works to unpack, organize, and settle into our new space, some Foundation operations will be temporarily paused, but we assure you, it’s all in the name of progress.” The foundation invited the community to a forthcoming Grand Opening Celebration, adding, “We’re incredibly grateful for your continued support and patience during this transition, and we’re thrilled to invite everyone to join us for our upcoming Grand Opening Celebration. It will be a community-wide event to showcase the new space, share what’s ahead, and celebrate education in Hernando County.” Grand Opening details will be announced soon.
The move sits against a long organizational record. HCEF describes itself as founded in 1988 and operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served Hernando County public education “for over 30 years.” The organization’s stated mission lines include, “Creating Partnerships that Advance Student Achievement and Promote Excellence within Hernando County Public Education,” and “Our mission has always been clear: to invest in our students, support our teachers, and inspire our community. This move will help us do just that, in bigger, bolder ways than ever before.”

Program priorities and institutional footprint were reiterated at the event. LinkedIn metadata for the foundation lists core focuses on student scholarships, classroom grants, literacy and recognition programs, with recent expansion into STEM education, Career/Technical Education and community engagement. The profile also lists a company size of 11–50 employees, three associated LinkedIn members, 38 followers, and a previous or alternate location at 900 Emerson Road in Brooksville.
HCEF framed practical benefits of the new site for county schools: “Our new location will allow us to better serve our teachers, students, and community partners with improved accessibility, expanded resources, and room to grow.” As the foundation settles into 5404 Applegate Drive, officials say the relocation is meant to position HCEF to increase support for Hernando County Schools while the organization finalizes public details for the Grand Opening and resumes paused operations.
