HPD Seeks Help Locating Missing, Endangered 25-Year-Old from Hawaiian Paradise Park
Hawaiʻi Police Department seeks public help to find 25-year-old Jonathan Solominsky of Hawaiian Paradise Park; HPD bulletin provided only limited details and cuts off mid-sentence.

Hawaiʻi Police Department has issued a public appeal to locate 25-year-old Jonathan Solominsky, who is reported missing and classified as endangered and tied to the Hawaiian Paradise Park community, HPD said. The initial advisory in circulation provides only those facts and truncates mid-sentence, ending with “Solominsky was reported missing and potentially in,” without listing a last-seen location, time, physical description or the reason he is considered endangered.
Because the Solominsky bulletin lacks identifying details and an investigator contact, HPD lists its non-emergency line and tip options for the public. For immediate emergencies call 911; for non-emergency reports call HPD Hilo at (808) 935-3311. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300; “Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at (808) 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00,” Crime Stoppers material states.
HPD and local outlets have recently issued similar endangered-person alerts and later posted updates when subjects were located. Big Island Now reported an update at 7:46 p.m. March 5, 2026: “Hawaiʻi Police Department reported via email shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday that 24-year-old Keikilani Hauoli-Kuoha, an endangered woman who was previously missing, has been located. She is in good health.” That posting noted Hauʻoli-Kuoha had last been seen in downtown Hilo and that she was considered endangered due to a need for regular medical assistance.
Hawaii News Now likewise reported that “A man reported missing earlier Saturday has been found” and added that “The Hawaii Police Department said that James Fonseca, 25, was found in Hilo and in good health.” In both cases HPD expressed thanks to the public for assistance in locating the individuals.
HPD continues to use its investigative channels for active searches. An HPD posting about a separate case names 26-year-old Tyler Reikofski-Ekle as last seen on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the area of the 15-mile marker on Highway 137, Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road in Pahoa; that posting says he “is considered endangered as he is in need of medication for a medical condition” and offers a physical description: Caucasian, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 185 pounds, with long blonde hair and brown eyes. For information on that case HPD directs people to Detective Christopher Jelsma of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at (808) 961-2386 or christopher.jelsma@hawaiicounty.gov, and asks the public to call the Unsolved Homicides Division at (808) 961-2380 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300: “Please take a moment to review the Unsolved Homicides summaries and if you have any information pertaining to any of these cases, please submit a tip, email us or call our Unsolved Homicides Division at (808) 961-2380 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300. Thank you for your help!”
State and federal partners have also coordinated multi-agency recovery efforts on past operations. An October 22, 2025 press release about “Operation Shine the Light” quoted U.S. Marshal Justin Davis: “Operation Shine the Light represents the very best of what can be accomplished when state, local and federal partners come together with a shared commitment to protect Hawai‘i’s keiki and support those who dedicate their lives to keeping them safe.” The release lists participating agencies and gives media contacts at the Attorney General’s Office.
HPD asks anyone with information about Jonathan Solominsky of Hawaiian Paradise Park to call 911 for emergencies, the HPD non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311, or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300; for missing-children tips the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children may be reached at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
