IHG has introduced a global spa-and-wellness concept called Regent Spa & Wellness, debuting at Regent Bali Canggu and developed in collaboration with Raison d’Etre. Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Global Luxury Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, framed the move around shifting travel motives: “Wellbeing is increasingly integral to how and why we travel,” and he added that the initiative offers “extraordinary new ways for our guests to optimise how they feel, extending Regent’s modern luxury positioning.”

The new concept emphasizes sensorial design and restorative rituals, with IHG describing Regent Spas as combining “ancient impact with grace and decadence to craft mystical, sensorial and emotionally resonant spa journeys, which begin quite simply with the ringing of a bell.” Raison d’Etre’s managing director Anna-Cari Gund said of the collaboration, “We believe that when the mind is stilled, the senses awaken,” and noted that Regent Spa & Wellness “reimagines traditional spa environments through colour, art, and immersive sensory experiences.”

At the Bali debut the guest journey opens with The Reset, a meditative sound therapy experienced in private waiting areas. Regent Bali Canggu stages The Reset in Balinese-style cabanas and pairs the self-guided meditation and sound experience with work by OPO Studios. Signature therapies at the property include massages performed on warm quartz sand beds, crystal-based rituals and technology-enhanced facials, and the spa also features dedicated experiences for younger guests to meet multi-generational travel demand.

IHG has signaled a rapid rollout across three further Regent properties. Regent Jeddah is scheduled to open later in 2026 and will be the brand’s first Regent hotel in the Middle East. The Jeddah spa will occupy 1,500 square meters, include separate ladies’ and gentlemen’s areas, offer indoor and outdoor pools and house a 200-square-meter fitness club, with a Corniche waterfront location delivering uninterrupted sea views. Urban executions of The Reset at Jeddah and similar properties will incorporate light, sound and technology as part of the guest initiation.

Regent Kuala Lumpur is expected to open in 2027 with a spa “suspended in the sky on the 31st floor, truly elevating guests above the noise,” while Regent Kyoto is projected for 2028 and will be set within a historic garden landscaped over a century ago by Kumakichi Kato. Across these sites IHG’s internal wellness team will guide location-specific interpretations of the Regent Spa & Wellness framework together with Raison d’Etre, and movement and fitness programming will balance restorative practices with higher-intensity training inspired by Yin and Yang.

The Regent brand currently operates 11 hotels and resorts with a further 11 properties in development, and IHG’s Reimagined Regent positioning frames this spa initiative as part of a broader “New Heights on the Horizon” strategy. Industry context underlines the timing: a LinkedIn post tied to Horwath HTL Pacific Asia research notes that nearly three-quarters of travellers now plan trips to improve their wellbeing and almost half have chosen a hotel based on its wellness amenities. With tangible treatments at Bali and scale promised in Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur and Kyoto between 2026 and 2028, Regent Spa & Wellness aims to make sensorial, site-specific self care central to the brand’s upper-luxury offering.
