Jesus Antonio Aguilar, 27, was taken into custody in Fresno on Monday, March 2, 2026, after investigators tied him to a Jan. 25 disturbance in Sanger that included gunfire and a stabbing on the 200 block of Academy Avenue, authorities said.
Sanger officers were originally dispatched to the 200 block of Academy Avenue for a report of gunshots on January 25. While officers were responding, another call came in about a stabbing, and “a short time later, the stabbing victim was dropped off at the Sanger Fire Department,” officials reported. The victim was then transported to Community Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Detectives working with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium conducted extended follow-up work on the Jan. 25 scene and “identified Jesus Antonio Aguilar as the suspect responsible for the stabbing,” the investigative accounts state. Aguilar was taken into custody in Fresno, with agencies reporting he was “taken into custody on Monday in Fresno.”
A booking record and photos for Jesus Antonio Aguilar appeared on public booking sites following the arrest, including a Fresno County booking photo reposted on RecentlyBooked.com and a booking image credited to the Sanger Police Department. RecentlyBooked’s site emphasizes that “this post shows arrest information only. It does not imply guilt,” and that “all individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”

Sanger Police Department officials and the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium have not released formal charging documents in the material provided so far. Published accounts and booking listings do not specify counts, bail amounts, arraignment dates or whether additional suspects were identified; those details remain pending from law enforcement and the Fresno County booking ledger.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. “Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case or gang violence to contact the Sanger Police Department. The department can be reached at (559) 600-3111,” the advisory says.
The arrest stems from an incident law enforcement labeled gang-related, and investigators with MAGEC and Sanger Police continue to handle follow-up inquiries. Authorities have not released further statements about the victim’s condition beyond the earlier report of serious injuries or about any additional arrests tied to the Jan. 25 disturbance.
