Kena: Bridge of Spirits coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with Anniversary DLC

Ember Lab announced that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 this spring as a feature-complete port that includes the Anniversary DLC and a New Game+ mode, and the studio published a trailer alongside the announcement. Nintendo news outlets and industry insiders circulated early footage after the trailer was posted, giving a first look at how Ember Lab’s debut title will run on the Switch 2 handheld display.

The Anniversary DLC bundled with the Switch 2 release includes Charmstones, Spirit Guide Trials, new outfits, and various accessibility features. The port also adds a New Game+ option, described in reporting as offering "even trickier encounters," positioning the Switch 2 edition as a complete build of the game with the latest updates and extras.

Ember Lab framed the Switch 2 release as a way to reach new players. Kena: Bridge of Spirits began life as a 2021 launch on PlayStation and PC and later arrived on Xbox in 2024, making the Switch 2 announcement the first time the game will appear on a Nintendo platform. The studio’s cinematic art direction and animation roots were repeatedly noted in early coverage of the game, a point visible in the trailer footage shared with outlets and insiders.

The announcement arrives amid franchise expansion: Kena: Scars of Kosmora, the sequel, is listed in reporting as due later in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC. There is no confirmation in the announcement that the sequel will come to Switch 2, and Ember Lab has not published a calendar release date for the Switch 2 port beyond the "this spring" window.
