Lewisburg Borough offices closed Feb. 16; Monday refuse moved to Wednesday
Lewisburg borough offices will be closed Feb. 16 for Presidents Day; Monday refuse pickups will be collected Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Lewisburg Borough will close its municipal offices and move Monday refuse collection to Wednesday, affecting residents who normally receive Monday curbside service.
The borough’s website states, "The Lewisburg Borough Office, the Borough’s Public Works Department, and the Borough’s Refuse Collection Department will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026." The announcement identifies the date as Presidents Day.
The borough also makes the operational change clear: "Refuse which normally would have been collected on Monday, February 16, 2026 will instead be picked up on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 along with refuse normally collected on Wednesdays." The notice adds, "Lewisburg Borough Refuse Collections on Tuesday – Friday of that week will not be affected."
Those three lines establish the scope: in-person municipal services provided through the borough office and Public Works will be unavailable Monday, and refuse crews will consolidate Monday routes into Wednesday collections. For residents with Monday pickups, refuse that would have been taken on Feb. 16 will be collected Feb. 18 alongside the regular Wednesday routes. Residents with Tuesday through Friday schedules should expect no change.
The change is narrowly targeted to borough administration and refuse collection. The announcement does not list any adjustments to other municipal services such as public safety, court operations, or special collections, nor does it specify collection times or procedures for placing refuse at the curb. Residents should assume normal pickup timing unless the borough posts further instructions.
The notice appears on the Borough of Lewisburg Pennsylvania website and includes standard site navigation prompts encouraging readers to share the entry, sign up for the newsletter, use the Contact Us options, or follow the borough on Facebook for updates. Those channels are the borough’s posted avenues for additional information and any subsequent changes.
For local residents and small businesses that rely on in-person transactions at the borough office, the temporary closure means scheduling permits, payments, and other administrative business on another day. For households with Monday refuse service, expect a consolidated pickup on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Monitor the borough’s official channels for any clarifications or last-minute changes; the borough has directed the public to its website and social media for notices.
