LG’s 48-inch B5 OLED TV dropped to $599.99 at Best Buy, a $700 cut that puts one of LG’s newest entry-level OLEDs within reach of buyers who have waited for a true budget OLED sale. In a category where prices can climb into the thousands fast, this is a meaningful break from the usual OLED price floor.

The B5 is LG’s 2025 starter model, introduced in the United States on May 12, 2025 as the direct replacement for the 2024 B4. LG rolled it out in 48-, 55-, 65-, 77- and 83-inch sizes, with the 83-inch version launching at $4,499. That pricing spread shows where the 48-inch deal fits: it is not a clearance relic, but a current-generation OLED being sold at a steep discount.

On paper, the B5 covers the core features that matter for a living-room TV and a gaming display. LG says it supports 4K, a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby Atmos, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, all running on webOS. Independent review coverage says it uses LG’s α8 AI Processor 4K Gen2 and a traditional WOLED panel, which keeps it below the more premium C5 and G5 models in LG’s 2025 OLED range.

That hierarchy matters for shoppers deciding whether to buy now or wait. The B5 is the better fit for a small living room, a bedroom setup, or a first move into OLED, where deep blacks and strong gaming support matter more than chasing the brightest possible panel. For those use cases, $599.99 is a hard price to ignore.

The trade-off is brightness and prestige. LG positioned the B5 as the entry-level OLED in its 2025 lineup, and review coverage has consistently treated it that way, even while praising its picture quality. The Verge described it as delivering excellent picture quality with deep blacks and a good feature set for the price, but buyers shopping for the punchiest OLEDs will still need to look higher up the line.

Best Buy’s 48-inch listing also arrives alongside broader availability for the 55-inch B5 through Amazon, Best Buy and LG-authorized retailers, which gives shoppers a few size options if the 48-inch model feels too small. For anyone who has been waiting for a sub-$600 OLED that still brings 120Hz gaming features and Dolby Vision, this was a strong place to buy.
