McKinnie’s Nine 3s Propel South Bend Washington Past LaVille 63-60
McKinnie hit nine 3s, five in the fourth, and scored 30 as South Bend Washington rallied for a 63-60 road win over LaVille at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium.

Terrance McKinnie sank nine 3-pointers and finished with 30 points to lift South Bend Washington to a 63-60 victory over LaVille at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium on Tuesday night, Feb. 24, 2026. McKinnie drilled five triples in the fourth quarter as Washington held off a late LaVille rally.
The quarter-by-quarter line showed a tight game throughout: South Bend Washington 13, 9, 16, 25 — 63; LaVille 12, 10, 16, 22 — 60. Washington made 14 3-pointers in the game — McKinnie 9, Mike Stuckey 4 and Jaydon Lineberry 1 — and Stuckey finished with 15 points alongside Lineberry’s seven.
LaVille received 24 points from Lance Edison, who MaxPreps credited with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Andre Gonzales scored 14 while MaxPreps also lists him with seven assists and six rebounds, and Liam Amor added 12. LaVille’s outside shooting lagged early; the Lavillelancers recap noted a frigid first half from deep in which LaVille shot 2-for-18 (11%) from 3-point range, yet the Lancers still clawed back into the game.
Sportstothemax’s narrative emphasized the fourth-quarter fireworks: “Both teams heated up in a thrilling fourth quarter as the teams battled back and forth in scoring a combined 47 points.” That surge included Washington outscoring LaVille 25-22 in the final period, with McKinnie’s five late treys creating the separation Washington needed.
Rebounding was a contested element in the game. Sportstothemax reported Ryan Maenhout hauled down 14 rebounds and Braedyn Foster grabbed 12 on LaVille’s end, while MaxPreps highlighted Edison’s 12 boards and Gonzales’ six. LaVille’s box score from the local recaps listed Caleb Skiles 0, Andre Gonzales 14, Lance Edison 24, Aaron Keb 0, Liam Amor 12, Ryan Maenhout 7 and Braedyn Foster 3 in scoring; the narrative rebound totals differ and merit scorebook confirmation.
LaVille’s coach reflected on shot selection and Washington’s surprise hot hand in the postgame comments published on the Lavillelancers site: “It was a game we could've gotten if we would've been a little more selective with our shots and taken care of the ball a little better. I figured out really quickly that McKinnon, number 10, was the player who had not been in their lineup for the last couple of months. With him having 30 points that really hurt us as well. They got an eight point lead in the fourth quarter and we didn't give up and battled back and tied the game up. A lot of credit goes to our guys for not giving up and finding a way to battle back. It's super tough to win games when we shoot so poorly. For us to keep the game that close and shoot 15% from three point range is pretty remarkable.”
Local box scores list Washington’s team totals as Mike Stuckey 15, Jaden Jackson 2, Jaydon Lineberry 7, Terrance McKinnie 30, Ke’Mon Forbes 3, Quentin Bridgeman 4 and Rodmey/Rowney Milligan 2; the line reads Totals: 21 7-14 63. LaVille’s local box lists Caleb Skiles 0, Andre Gonzales 14, Lance Edison 24, Aaron Keb 0, Liam Amor 12, Ryan Maenhout 7 and Braedyn Foster 3; Totals: 24 7-13 60. Both Sportstothemax and Lavillelancers show LaVille moving to 14-9; they list Washington at 5-16, while MaxPreps records Washington as 6-16 after the win — a discrepancy that should be confirmed with the schools’ official stat books.
Sportstothemax also reported the junior varsity game, with SB Washington JV edging LaVille JV 36-33 and Jaydin Kyle scoring 13 for Washington. Washington’s road victory and McKinnie’s barrage of triples were the difference in a game defined by a late scoring flurry and contrasting shooting nights from beyond the arc.
