Molton Brown launches Tea Ceremony matcha-inspired woody-green fragrances, debuts at Heathrow
Molton Brown launched Tea Ceremony on 18 February — a matcha-inspired woody-green unisex fragrance debuting at Heathrow with a March Contentainment campaign and a 100 ml bottle listed at USD 180.

Molton Brown launched Tea Ceremony on 18 February 2026 into global travel retail and selected domestic markets, kicking off with a travel-retail debut at London Heathrow Airport and a multi-stage campaign run in partnership with Avolta. The brand has positioned the range as a travel-friendly, ritual-driven scent and is supporting the Heathrow debut with a Contentainment collaboration and an advertising wall campaign throughout March.
The Tea Ceremony collection ships in three SKUs: a 100 ml Eau de Parfum, a 7.5 ml Eau de Parfum, and a 300 ml Bath & Shower Gel. Molton Brown’s webshop lists the 100 ml bottle at USD 180 and a 7.5 ml combo with the Bath & Shower Gel at USD 55, pricing reported via Fragrantica and attributed to the brand’s online store. Those formats make the line an easy grab for gifting — a full-size EDP at USD 180 or the small combo at USD 55 for a travel-ready present.
Senior Perfumer Mathieu Nardin created the unisex woody-green composition, which blends a top note of nashi pear for mild sweetness with an earthy, meditative matcha accord and crisp green tea heart, settling on a base of rich amberwood designed to leave a long-lasting trail. Molton Brown describes the scent as “a ceremonial moment suspended in time – a low-key reset that brings consumers back ‘in’.” The house also notes that Tea Ceremony is its first woody fragrance since 2019, a deliberate pivot into warmer, woodier territory.
Molton Brown’s UK general manager Simon James framed the product as an offering tied to wellbeing and travel. “Mindful, sensorial and deeply connected to wellbeing, Tea Ceremony is a powerful expression of our approach to modern fragrance,” he said, adding that “Travel retail is the perfect stage for this launch, allowing us to offer shoppers a moment of peace and reconnection when it’s needed the most.” Moodie Davitt published an extended James comment describing Tea Ceremony as “a sophisticated pause that cuts through the noise and leaves an impression of inner calm,” and saying the launch “underscores our ambitions in the channel” to deepen connections with travelling consumers.

After the March wall campaign at Heathrow, the brand will extend its in-channel presence from early April by introducing Tea Ceremony “Must Have Tables” at Heathrow and London Stansted Airport. Visual assets accompanying coverage showed the bottle staged with matcha powder, and an Instagram caption for the launch read: “Launching today, 18 February! Molton Brown's Tea Ceremony Collection, a mindful fragrance ritual inspired by calm and balance.”
The roll-out frames Molton Brown’s move into tea-led, woody perfumery amid renewed consumer interest in matcha and green-tea ingredients; trade commentary notes that green tea accords are increasingly rendered through herbal and woody profiles rather than gourmand styles. With clear airport activations and priced entry points, Tea Ceremony is set to be a practical, travel-minded gift for anyone who values calm rituals and unisex woody-green scents.
