Nye County Republicans to Select Delegates, Set Platform March 14
Registered Republicans will gather at Nevada Treasure RV Resort March 14 at 10 a.m. for the Precinct Meeting and County Convention to select delegates and set the party platform.

Registered Republicans in Nye County will convene at the Precinct Meeting and County Convention at Nevada Treasure RV Resort, located at 301 W. Leslie Street, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, to select delegates and set the county party platform and bylaws ahead of the midterms. The day will also feature Republican candidate speakers and other party business.
The convention agenda includes delegate selections, platform setting, bylaw setting, and other party business, giving local activists a formal role in shaping the county GOP’s direction for the 2026 cycle. Party chairman Leo Blundo urged turnout in advance of the March 14 meeting, saying, “This is where people should get active, engaged and involved,” and that participation offers a direct route to influence local government.
Blundo framed the convention as part of a broader effort to energize the base for statewide races: “We have the midterms coming up, and this is what it’s all about, getting the base excited about local politics, and getting not just the governor reelected, but Republicans elected across the state of Nevada.” He added that the event reflects “a real groundswell,” calling it “what people call grassroots excitement and support.”
The county convention will “feature Republican candidate speakers,” and organizers are inviting campaign participation. If you’re a Republican candidate interested in speaking at the upcoming county convention, contact Nye County Republican Party Chairman Leo Blundo at 702-595-2269 or chairman@nyegop.org. Registered Republicans are invited to attend and participate in the proceedings.
Party materials posted on the Nye County Republican Party website provide additional context on the organization’s outreach and goals. The site uses the heading “Welcome to TRUMP Country Nye County, Nevada” and highlights the county’s geographic scale, noting that Nye County covers 16,325 sq miles, the third largest county by area in the United States. The site also emphasizes volunteers and fundraising, stating, “Volunteers are the lifeblood of the republican party. Grassroots efforts are what it takes to win!”
County government materials that appeared in the same information bundle include biographical details for local figures such as Jennifer Lazovich, whose background includes infrastructure financing, public affairs, zoning and land use planning, a B.A. in Public Administration from USC in 1994 and a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1998, and James H. Bilbray, noted for government relations and administrative law work and eight years as a U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s first Congressional district. Those entries appear on county pages but are not identified as participants in the March 14 convention.
Media inquiries may be directed to Elijah Dulay at edulay@pvtimes.com. The March 14 Precinct Meeting and County Convention will be the party’s first major local organizing event before the 2026 midterm campaign season, with delegate selection and platform decisions poised to influence the Nye County Republican Central Committee’s strategy going forward.
